D-LAB INDUSTRY, THE FACTORY OF TOMORROW
It was as part of a 360° approach—and to take the vision and values dear to D-LAB even further—that the D-LAB INDUSTRY facility was established in 2022. And since Vichy, the Allier region, and French manufacturing are part of D-LAB’s DNA, the facility was established in the heart of the St-Bonnet de Rochefort naturopôle in the Allier region.
A VERY SPECIFIC IMPLANTATION
Our factory is located in the heart of the Saint-Bonnet-de-Rochefort Naturopôle Park, an ISO 14001-certified site where all the companies are committed to an eco-friendly approach to reducing their environmental impact.
BUILT TO THE MOST DEMANDING STANDARDS
We wanted to go far beyond the ISO 50001 standards by choosing insulation with very thick walls, using rock wool, highly efficient thermal glazing to reduce heat gains, low-consumption lighting, and bio-based materials to reduce heating and air conditioning needs… — Solar panels cover the roof and can meet up to 90% of our energy needs, while the construction site itself has been awarded a low environmental impact label.
PHARMACEUTICAL-GRADE PRODUCTION
To meet pharmaceutical requirements, particularly regarding air treatment, we installed an air-handling unit that enables us to rigorously control hygrometry—the measurement of humidity in the air—in order to protect the raw materials (dry extracts or capsules, for example). This ensures that our active ingredients and probiotics remain viable throughout production, until they are bottled.—We also grow our own seeds on plots near our site that have not been cultivated for 15 years and are therefore free of pesticides!
MAXIMUM TRANSPORTATION REDUCTION
Our presence within the Naturopôle enables us to collaborate with local partners on extraction, the sourcing of raw materials, and bio-based packaging. We also share transportation with the other companies in the park.
RAINWATER REUSE
To reduce and control water consumption, our plant reuses rainwater for irrigation, insulation, and our solar panels.
A ZERO-WASTE POLICY TAKEN TO THE MAXIMUM
We wanted to reduce packaging by receiving our raw materials in returnable, reusable drums, while choosing 100% washable operator clothing (lab coats, hairnets, etc.) to minimize the disposable items typically used in businesses. As part of the same approach, three rescued hens were adopted to manage organic waste, and reusable parcel packaging is also available.
